๐ What Information Does Hedgi Collect During Onboarding?
Everything we ask for โ and nothing we donโt.
Hedgi keeps onboarding fast and lightweight, but we do ask for a few key details to set up your account correctly, power our automation, and tailor your experience to your business.
Hereโs exactly what we collect โ and where to update it later if needed.
๐ Required During Onboarding
When you first sign up, weโll ask for:
1. Business Name
This is how your business will appear on reports, summaries, and your dashboard.
2. Business Address
Used for report headers and tax alignment. If you're a sole prop working from home, you can list your home office.
3. Business Email
We use this for important updates, monthly summaries, and support communication.
4. Business Phone Number
Helps us verify your business identity and is included on certain reports (if needed for invoices or taxes).
5. Tax Form Type
We ask which form you file for your business:
- Schedule C (sole proprietors)
- S Corporation (1120S)
- Partnership (1065)
- C Corporation (1120)
This helps us align your categories and summaries to the right tax structure.
6. Industry and Sub-Industry
This helps tailor your categories and deduction suggestions. For example, a salon will see different prompts than a marketing agency or delivery business.
โ๏ธ Where to Update This Info Later
If anything changes, you can update your business profile at any time:
- Open the Settings tab
- Tap Business Information
- Edit your: - Name
- Address
- Email
- Phone
- Tax form
- Industry or sub-industry

Changes apply immediately and update how your transactions are categorized going forward.
๐ Privacy Reminder
We only collect information needed to:
- Help you categorize transactions correctly
- Align your books with IRS expectations
- Generate clean reports for you or your accountant
Your data is encrypted, never sold, and only used to support your Hedgi account.
